The Basketball Africa League (BAL) 2025 season is set to be one of the most competitive yet, featuring 12 teams from across the continent, including a record six first-time participants

With three regular-season group phases, the action will tip off with the Kalahari Conference in Rabat, Morocco, on April 5, before heading to Dakar, Senegal for the Sahara Conference, and Kigali, Rwanda for the Nile Conference.

Among the contenders is Rwanda’s own APR BBC, the 2024 Rwandan champions, proudly representing the country in the Nile Conference as they aim to make a deep playoff run.

🏀 Nairobi City Thunder – Kenya (BAL Debut)

 

Nile Conference – Kigali, Rwanda (May 17 – May 25, 2025)

Each team will battle through a 12-game group phase, where the top eight teams across all conferences will advance to the playoffs and finals in Pretoria, South Africa, from June 6 – June 14.
