FIA General Assemblies & FIA Awards 2024

9-14 December 2024 | Kigali Convention Centre

About FIA General Assemblies

Attended by all FIA Member Clubs, the General Assemblies convene once a year to plan the future course of the Federation.

The General Assemblies are the supreme decision-making body of the FIA. Chaired by the President, these meetings include automobile and touring clubs and national sporting authorities representing FIA member organisations.

Occasionally, extraordinary General Assemblies are convened to discuss urgent matters affecting the entire membership that cannot wait until the next annual meeting.

The General Assemblies’ agenda typically includes items proposed by the FIA’s two World Councils (World Motor Sport Council and World Council for Automobile Mobility and Tourism) and items brought forward by the Senate.

The General Assemblies have several unique competences, including the approval of the budget and the election of all major FIA officials.
